On 20 August 2025, Her Excellency Esra Toplu, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Lithuania, presented her Letters of Credence to His Excellency Gitanas Nausėda, President of the Republic of Lithuania, at the Presidential Palace in Vilnius.
During the official meeting, President Nausėda underlined the strong potential for economic cooperation between Türkiye and Lithuania. He highlighted the Turkish-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, established in early 2024, as a key platform for strengthening business relations and creating new opportunities between the two countries.
The discussion also covered broader areas of cooperation, including:
Reinforcing NATO’s eastern flank and preparations for the 2026 NATO Summit in Ankara
Lithuania’s support for Türkiye–EU dialogue
Expanding collaboration in science, technology, and the defense industries
Türkiye’s pivotal role in migration management
The growing number of Turkish students in Lithuanian universities
